65th AIIS Annual Gala Dinner
Dec 3 all-day

It’s not too soon to make plans for our New York City Annual Dinner on Thursday, December 3rd!

The Manhattan Penthouse on Fifth Avenue, with its outstanding, in-house catering and striking, floor-to-ceiling views of landmarks like the Freedom Tower and the Empire State Building, will once again be the venue for our celebration.

As you may know, this year’s Annual New York City Dinner is a special occasion, our 65th New York City Annual Dinner.

To mark this milestone, we are delighted to announce that we will have a very special guest. Our keynote speaker will be the acclaimed journalist Mr. Bret Stephens.

Bret Stephens writes “Global View,” the foreign-affairs column of the Wall Street Journal, for which he was awarded the 2013 Pulitzer Prize for distinguished commentary. He is the Journal’s deputy editorial-page editor, responsible for the opinion pages of the paper’s sister editions in Europe and Asia, as well as a member of the Journal’s editorial board. He is also a regular panelist on the Journal Editorial Report, a political talk show carried nationally by the Fox News Channel.

Mr. Stephens joined the Journal in New York in 1998 and later worked for the paper in Brussels. In January 2002, at the age of 28, he was named editor-in-chief of The Jerusalem Post, where he was responsible for news and opinion, the international and digital editions, and also wrote a weekly column.

Mr. Stephens returned to the Journal in late 2004 and was named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum the following year. He has won numerous journalism awards in addition to the Pulitzer, and reported stories from around the world, including Burma, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon, and Gaza. He has also interviewed scores of world leaders, including every Israeli Prime Minister since Shimon Peres.

In November 2014 Sentinel Books published Mr. Stephens’s first book, “America in Retreat: The New Isolationism and the Coming Global Disorder.” The book was praised by former Secretary of State George Shultz as “wise counsel for a constructive, tough-minded and sensible foreign policy,” and by Harvard University historian Niall Ferguson as “a shrewd, sharp, and shamelessly unfashionable defense of American power.”

This year’s NYC Annual Dinner will be an engaging, festive evening, with penetrating, off-the-record commentary you won’t hear anywhere else by one of America’s most accomplished journalists and astute observers of global affairs.
