The program starts on Thursday, 18 May 2017 at 1.30 pm with a special tour aboard The M/V Sam Houston.
The M/V Sam Houston will depart promptly at 1:30 p.m. and return at approximately 3:30 p.m.
*Due to PHA’s commitment to safety and security, all attendees must have a current photo ID to enter Port Authority property.
The boat tour will be followed by a “Bring a Customer – Meet a Customer” networking Reception at the Houstonian Hotel, Club & SPA from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
Friday, 19 May 2017 will be a half conference day that will send you home with up-to-the-minute, practical, useful information from some of this country’s—and the world’s—leading experts and practitioners in key elements of the steel supply chain.
Port of Houston Authority Chairman Janiece Longoria will deliver the keynote address on the following topic(s): the Port of Houston and global trade with a focus on the steel supply chain.
The conference will be moderated by Jimmy Baldwin, S.V.P. Sales & Marketing, Coastal Cargo, and Kevin Castagnola, CEO of South Jersey Port Corporation.
The golf tournament will begin with registration and lunch at 12:30 PM followed by a shotgun start at 1:30PM. An awards program & BBQ will conclude the day’s events. The format for the Tournament will be an 18 hole, four-person traditional scramble. More detailed rules will be distributed on the day of the tournament.
Port of Long Beach Harbor Tour
The event starts on Thursday, 2 November 2017 at 2.00 pm with a special Port of Long Beach harbor tour.
The vessel will depart promptly at 2:00 p.m. and return at approximately 3:30 p.m.
Guests will be required to arrive no later than 1:40 p.m. for 1:45 p.m. boarding. The vessel will depart from Shoreline Village – Dock 9.
Note: Dock 9 is outside the main entrance of Parkers’ Lighthouse (http://parkerslighthouse.com/home/), and parking will be validated for those who park at Shoreline Village.
The harbor tour will be followed by a “Bring a Customer – Meet a Customer” networking Reception and Dinner at the L’Opera Restaurant, Long Beach, CA from 5:30 pm – 9:30 pm.

Keynote Speaker: Captain Kevin Oditt, Commanding Officer of Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston. – United States Coast Guard
Captain Oditt is a 1992 graduate of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Captain Oditt’s previous operational assignments include Coast Guard Cutter’s ALERT and VIGOROUS, Marine Inspector at Marine Safety Office Port Arthur, TX, Chief of Inspections at Marine Safety Office Tampa, FL, and Chief of Prevention at Sector Long Island Sound, New Haven, CT. Captain Oditt served at Coast Guard Headquarters in the office of Design and Engineering Standards, Port Security Directorate, Staff Chief for the Deputy Commandant for Operations, and Division Chief in the Office of Commercial Vessel Compliance. Captain Oditt earned advanced degrees from the University of Michigan in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, and Manufacturing and the Marine Corps War College in Strategic Studies.
